【 摘 要 】
This paper presents a systematic andcomprehensive meta-analysis of the literature on financialeducation interventions. The analysis focuses on financialeducation studies designed to strengthen the financialknowledge and behaviors of consumers. The analysisidentifies 188 papers and articles that present impactresults of interventions designed to increaseconsumers' financial knowledge (financial literacy) orskills, attitudes, and behaviors (financial capability). These papers are diverse across a number of dimensions, including objectives of the program intervention, expectedoutcomes, intensity and duration of the intervention, delivery channel used, and type of population targeted. However, there are a few key outcome indicators where asubset of papers are comparable, including those thataddress savings behavior, defaults on loans, and financialskills, such as record keeping. The results from the metaanalysis indicate that financial literacy and capabilityinterventions can have a positive impact in some areas(increasing savings and promoting financial skills such asrecord keeping) but not in others (credit default).
