The structure of this report reflectsthe directional organization of the study. Chapter twooffers a detailed descriptive analysis of national- andregional-level household fuelwood use, supplemented by adetailed analysis of fuelwood consumption and expenditureamong rural and peri-urban households. Chapter threediscusses the health and gender-related issues linked toIndoor Air Pollution (IAP) exposure resulting from use ofenergy-inefficient cook stoves. A detailed analysis ofpotential exposure and risk factors is given as an example,using data from the case study. Chapter four analyzeshousehold demand for cook stoves and the supply chain in thecase study area, while chapter five presents theintervention strategy to promote improved cook stoves.Chapter six proposes a complementary pilot project forpromoting the use of household biogas systems utilizing analternative financing approach. Finally, chapter seven concludes.
