The report comprises five sections:section two describes Solomon Islands Government's(SIG) national and sector policies and strategies, the stateof infrastructure and transport, relevant institution andregulatory frameworks, and activities of developmentpartners involved in the cocoa industry; section threeprovides an overview of global and domestic trends inprices, production and productivity of cocoa beans; sectionfour provides an overview of the cocoa value chain and asnapshot of costs, revenues and gross margins accruing tosmallholders, processors, traders and exporters at eachstage of the value chain; section five provides an overviewof key challenges and opportunities in development of theSolomon Islands cocoa value chain; and section six concludesthe main findings of the value chain analysis and makesrecommendations for future interventions in the cocoa industry.
