This Country Social Analysis examinesHaiti's conflict-poverty trap from the perspective ofthe triangle of factors that have been identified as itsmain components: (a) demographic and socioeconomic factorsat the individual and household levels; (b) the state'sinstitutional capacity to provide public goods and managesocial risks; and (c) the agendas and strategies ofpolitical actors. This report's three main chaptersexplore the nature of these components. The closing chapterconsiders the linkages among them.
