How can the World Bank engage theprinciples of open development and accountability with ourclients in fragile and conflict-affected situations (FCS)?With the support of our partners and counterparts inAfghanistan and Myanmar, the Bank convened governments andtheir citizens including media, civil society, students, andacademia to discuss the Bank s Open Development initiativeat public forums and to learn how to use Bank resources infocused trainings. It was clear that, while resources foraccountability may be limited, the citizens were eager! ThisSmartLesson shares some of what we learned during OpenDevelopment missions organized by External and CorporateRelations Operational Communications.
