This project aims to provide access towater services through individual household connections toseveral low-income communities in Rizal province (AntipoloCity, Baras, Rodriguez, and San Mateo) and Taguig city inthe Manila Metropolitan region through collaboration withthe concessionaire for Manila's east zone, the ManilaWater Company (MWC). The GPOBA intervention supports ManilaWater's flagship program, launched in 1998, the'Water for the Community' or Tubig Para saBarangay (TPSB) program, which provides a regular supply ofclean, safe, and affordable drinking water to the urbanpoor. The scheme builds on the successful track record ofthe TPSB program and seeks to speed up rollout of individualconnections to poor households through one-time subsidies tocover the cost of the connection fee.
