A prolonged and multispeed recoveryperiod, its associated policy response, and the new globalfinancial landscape might have important bearing on the sizeand allocation of sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) assets. SWFscould become a driving force in South-South flows, boostingglobal wealth by helping recycle large savings in surpluscountries toward more productive investments. Whereas theyindeed represent a new opportunity for developing countries,they also carry challenges for both home and host countries.
