【 摘 要 】
This paper aims to estimate the impactof school-based management on students' test scores inthe Philippines. Estimation results using doubledifferencing combined with propensity score matching showthat school-based management increases the average nationalachievement test score by 4.2 points over three years. Theincrease in mathematics reached 5.7 points. This is largerthan the estimate previously reported from the Philippines, probably because the sample schools had learned aboutimplementation of school-based management from experiencesaccumulated in other provinces that introduced it earlier. The empirical results also show that schools withexperienced principals and teachers are eager to introduceschool-based management.
