【 摘 要 】

This note attempts to describe thepension system in Belarus including its fiscal performance,redistributive aspects benefit levels and benefiteligibility conditions. The note also discusses thechallenging demographic environment which Belarus pensionsystem is expected to face in the future and exploresalternative paths that the system could take in thisenvironment. Some reform scenarios are explored includingthe increase in retirement ages, changes in benefitindexation rules and the introduction of notional definedcontribution accounts.
