To respond tocommunity tensions and to build upon emergent positivesocial relations the Update recommended a new impetus forlocal and community development in Liberia. Community DrivenDevelopment (CDD) operations are an appropriate way tofoster cohesion at the local level but the RSA Updatesuggests that they still need to provide more attention tothe following key areas at the local level: i) Improvingrepresentation and participation in local and communitydevelopment processes; ii) Working within emerging localgovernance structures; iii) Strengthening coordination oflocal and community development.
