【 摘 要 】
Governments the world over offersignificant inducements to attract investment, motivated bythe expectation of spillover benefits to augment the primarybenefits of a boost to national income from new investment.There are several possible sources of induced spilloversfrom foreign direct investment. This article evaluates theempirical evidence on productivity, wage, and exportspillovers in developing, developed, and transitioneconomies. Although theory can identify a range of possiblespillover channels, robust empirical support for positivespillovers is at best mixed. The article explores thereasons and concludes with a review of policy aspects.【 预 览 】
