【 摘 要 】

Drawing on the Bank's PrivateParticipation in Infrastructure Project Database, this Notereviews developments in 2003. Data for the year show thatinvestment in projects with private participation, totaledalmost U$S 50 billion - back to 1994 levels. About 100projects reached financial closure. Electricity was the onlysub-sector - and, East Asia, and the Middle East and NorthAfrica, the only developing regions - that saw privateactivity grow in 2003.
