【 摘 要 】

Ayurveda and other traditional systemsof health care have been used for over two thousand years inSri Lanka. Indigenous systems such as Ayurveda are based onthe country's cultural, social, economic, and religiouscharacteristics. In addition, Sri Lankans utilizingknowledge of these indigenous systems of medicine were thefirst in the world to develop the concept of a hospital andestablished a highly scientific public healthcare system.
