The purpose of this study is to explorethe efficacy and sustainability of the outcomes fromvocational training delivered in DDR programs pertaining to(i) issues related to the design and implementation ofvocation¬al training and activities, and (ii) issuesrelating to the external economic and social environment aswell as the history and profile of ex-combatants who haveun¬dergone vocational training. The outcomes of this studywill help develop learning which can inform: (i) futurevocational training programming in DDR and stabiliza¬tionprograms, and (ii) areas of learning which might benefitfrom additional analysis or investigation. The studyprovides learning that can be translated into (i) generalprinciples regarding the success of DDR vocational training,and (ii) considerations to inform future DDR vocationaltraining programming in other countries. Through this study,the Transitional De¬mobilization and Reintegration Program(TDRP) is expected to more accurately gauge the influencerson effectiveness and sustainability of DDR vocationaltraining as well as inform the design of future vocationaltraining programs and skills development-relatedstabi¬lization interventions.
