【 摘 要 】
This paper provides the first systematicanalysis of migration to, within, and from Libya. The dataused in the analysis are from the Displacement TrackingMatrix data set of the International Organization forMigration. The analysis uses this unique source of data, combining several techniques to analyze various dimensionsof migration in Libya. First, the paper provides a detaileddescription of the demographic characteristics and nationalcomposition of the migrant populations in Libya. Next, itdiscusses the determinants of migration flow within Libya. The findings show that migration in Libya can becharacterized as forced migration, because conflictintensity is the main determinant of the decision torelocate across provinces. Finally, the paper describes thedirection, composition, and evolution of internationalmigration flows passing through Libya and identifies themechanisms of location selection by migrants within Libya byidentifying hotspots and cluster provinces.
