【 摘 要 】

The mounting challenges of global mentalhealth are affecting millions of individuals throughoutindustrialized and developing regions of the world. One keyfactor hindering the progress of addressing mental illnesslies in the structural imbalance between inadequate capacityto extend support, and the high growth rate of individualsrequiring treatment. Addressing this gap in a timely andeffective manner will warrant innovative approaches thatoperate in parallel with traditional strategies. Thisapproach will assist in resolving the key challenges andbarriers associated with the planning, design, anddeployment of effective mental health services, and reducingthe risk factors associated with mental illness. Theapplication of emerging technologies holds promise inpotentially addressing different dimensions of the globalmental health challenge. This brief explores how selecttechnologies and tools can potentially garner new insights,build efficiencies, and scale support in responding to themental health challenges unfolding in a wide array ofcommunities and contexts.
