The KP aims to support the Bank inadopting a significantly more systematic approach tomultisectoral action in countries to maximize investment inother sectors for health results, in line with itscomparative advantage. It will help to meet the Bank s twingoals and add value to its work in countries, by providingtask teams with data on the burden of disease and risks andtheir upstream determinants, which multisectoral actioncould address, toward the goal of reducing poverty. It willassist in demonstrating the links between upstreamdeterminants, such as poverty and inequality, and healthoutcomes. KP will identify proven and cost-effectivemultisectoral solutions from international best practicethat have the potential for transferability to localcontexts. It will then help understand the drivers, opportunities and constraints of work across practices andsectors on a common agenda to meet the Bank s goals. Finally, contributing to the effective delivery of existingBank work across sectors within countries, and provideforesight and priorities for future action.
