【 摘 要 】
Might a malaria control interventionentail agricultural effects that allow a commercialagribusiness to offset its costs? The randomized allocationof 39,936 insecticide-treated mosquito nets among 81,597smallholder cotton farming households in 1,507 clustershelps evaluate this in the context of Zambia's cottonoutgrowing industry. But despite large health impacts ontreated households, no impact on cotton deliveries to theagribusiness is detected. With some caveats, the resultstend to strike a discord with recent evidence on theagricultural productivity effects of malaria control.
