【 摘 要 】

This paper briefly describes primaryhealth care and accessibility to health care provision inGabon, and the social health insurance architecture of theGIS. The paper is not intended to provide an analytical anddetailed study on health insurance in Gabon. It simply aimsto provide a description the GIS in terms of eligibilitycriteria, targeting, and registration of beneficiaries;special topics related to the management of public funds ofthe social insurance of the GIS; management of the servicesoffered; and financial sustainability of the GIS. Itcontributes to the Universal Health Coverage Studies Serieson sharing experiences in the field of universal health coverage.
