This paper attempts to assess thevulnerability of Armenian temporary international labormigrants and their families to the labor market challengesposed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The authorsestimate that about fifty percent of temporary labormigrants might have been unable to leave for Russia owing totravel restrictions. Many Armenian migrants in Russia arelikely to lose jobs because of some halts in constructionactivities. Prospective migrants who were unable to leaveArmenia are more likely to be jobless based on theemployment status they had prior to departing for Russia. This would result in reducing remittances and exposingremittance-dependent households to precarious situations.Targeted policies to address this new vulnerable group arecalled for.
