The World Bank interviewed arepresentative sample of the private sector in 3 of the mostactive economic regions in Namibia. The sample consisted of580 business establishments surveyed from April 2014 throughFebruary 2015. The Enterprise Survey (ES) covers severaltopics of the business environment as well as performancemeasures for each firm. This report presents followinghighlights from the survey: Namibia’s private sectorexperienced strong employment growth; in Namibia, more womenare engaged in the formal private sector at all levels;customs clearance takes longer for smaller firms; access tofinance in Namibia appears to be less of a challengecompared to 2006; Namibia’s electricity supply is generallyreliable; and access to finance and electricity continue tobe the biggest obstacles to private firms’ operations.
