【 摘 要 】
Combining macroeconomic andmicroeconomic data and three indicators of internationalmarket integration, this paper assesses the degree to whichLatin American labor markets are integrated. The resultssuggest that relative to East Asia, Latin American labormarkets are somewhat more integrated, but considerabledifferences across countries persist. In addition, theevidence indicates that the degree of labor marketintegration across Latin American borders is significantlyless than that of labor markets within Mexico and within theUnited States in two of the three indicators. Thesedifferences may suggest opportunities for efficiency gainsfrom further labor market integration.
