【 摘 要 】

The objective of this report is toprovide a review of and recommendations for improving theagriculture and food security risk financing framework inthe Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) MemberStates. This report presents the compilation of variousanalyses and activities realized in the context of a WorldBank Group Advisory Services program to the SADC Regionduring 2019 and 2020, which included: (i) a stocktaking ofthe agroclimatic information systems of the region; (ii) theimplementation of four innovation challenges to identify themost promising solutions to advance the risk finance agendafor food security and agriculture in the region; (iii) theimplementation of one of the innovative solutions to oneSADC Member State (the Democratic Republic of Congo); and(iv) the development of a regional risk financing policynote for agriculture and food security in SADC.
