This study seeks to understand thestructure and workings of the labyrinth to propose aconcrete escape. It attempts to answer the followingquestions. (1) Why is it that Chad could not translate thediscovery of oil into structural development, economicdiversification and sustainable growth? (2) What couldpossible pathways towards sustainable long run growth looklike? (3) Which macro and micro policy actions could helpbuild those pathways?
