Project greenback 2.0, remittanceschampion cities consists in identifying cities where aseries of measures are implemented to foster the developmentof a sound remittance market. The objective of the projectis the promotion of transparency and competition in themarket for remittances and, ultimately, the reduction ofprices for remittance services. Montreuil, France is thesecond Remittances Champion City after Turin, Italy. Thisreport presents the main results of the survey. It startswith an overview of migration from and remittances to theselected countries. It then presents the research objectivesand describes both the survey design and samplingmethodology as well as the challenges posed by the fieldwork. It is followed by a presentation of the main findingsof the survey, based on a total sample of 428 migrants.After a brief description of the socio-demographiccharacteristics of the surveyed migrants, the discussionfocuses on their financial inclusion and their remittancebehavior. The last part of the report provides concludingremarks on the policy options for private and public actionsto promote the objectives of greenback 2.0.
