【 摘 要 】

Energy storage is particularly wellsuited to developing countries’ power system needs.Developing countries frequently feature weak grids. Theseare characterized by poor security of supply, driven by acombination of insufficient, unreliable and inflexiblegeneration capacity, underdeveloped or nonexistent gridinfrastructure, a lack of adequate monitoring andcontrolequipment, and a lack of skilled human resources andadequate maintenance. In this context,energy storage canhelp enhance reliability. Deployed together with VRE, it canhelp displacecostly and polluting generation based on liquidfuels while increasing security of supply.Storage can alsohelp defer and/or avoid the construction of new grid infrastructure
