Young people are particularlydisadvantaged in Kosovo’s labor market, facing highunemployment and precarious working conditions. In response, promoting youth employment has become a policy priority forthe Government of Kosovo. Supporting young people’semployment prospects must consider that young people aredifferent than adults. First, they face age-specificbarriers in the labor market, such as lack of workexperience and limited professional networks. Second, theyouth years are a time of transition where young peoplebuild autonomy and identity and are strongly influenced bytheir social environment. These realities need to beconsidered for program design and implementation. Youthemployment policies and interventions should therefore besensitive to the specific needs and preferences of young people.
