A World Bank series of projects toimprove aviation operations in four Pacific island countriesis demonstrating that the concept of ‘green design’ goesbeyond energy efficiency to the wider goal of environmentalsustainability. The aviation program is reducing impacts ona broad spectrum of concerns, including solid wastemanagement and water quality, by designing with the fulllifecycle of all project assets in mind.
