There are anumber of programs in Indonesia that have increasedcitizens' access to information in the health sectorand have empowered citizens to hold government accountableto basic health services. Some lessons include usingmulti-tool and multi-stakeholder approaches to socialaccountability strategies in order to reduce implementationrisks in different contexts. Social accountability canreinforce programmatic gains by strengthening institutionalmechanisms for problem solving.
