Following international agreement on thesustainable development goals, governments are nowconfronting the critical issue of funding the enormousinvestments - especially in infrastructure - required tomeet those goals. Yet governments clearly lack the fiscalspace to finance all the investments, as well as the skillsneeded to design and manage them. So the focus is on how tocrowd in private investment and private management. Sincenot enough private investment is flowing today, donorgovernments are exploring how to blend public aid money withprivate finance to make aid spending go further and crowd inmore private investment.
