【 摘 要 】

This note provides guidance on how tocreate an investment climate that is conducive to attractinghigh-quality, responsible investment in agriculture. Theinvestment climate needs to enable investors to survive, tothrive, and to contribute to the local community and thebroader economy in a socially and environmentallyresponsible way. Investors in the agriculture sector noted avariety of factors that inhibit their ability to runsuccessful operations. Failed or struggling investments haveconsequences that extend well beyond the financial lossesthat investors incur. An effective enabling environmentcontributes to the chances of investor success, which is inthe interests of all stakeholders.
