The response to the GRI Indicatorspresents a glimpse into the World Banks (also known as theInternational Bank for Reconstruction and Development orIBRD in the capital market) complex suite of activities.Topics that are of interest to sustainable investmentcommunities, NGOs, and country clients determine materialityfor the purposes of this report. Reporting priorities aredetermined annually based on the corporate priorities of thegiven year and queries by the SRI community. Stakeholdersare also identified with the assistance of relevantdepartments throughout the Bank. This Review encompassesWorld Bank operations globally. The World Bank consists oftwo agencies: IBRD and IDA (International DevelopmentAgency). Except for the terms of lending to membercountries, the agencies are tightly integrated and work as asingle unit. Therefore, staff of the World Bank, areconsidered ‘IBRD’ staff, even if they work on IDA fundedprojects or for other donor-funded initiatives, throughhundreds of trust funds. Similarly, World Bank manages thebuildings that house staff that work on IBRD, IDA, MIGA, andGEF projects. GRI indicators for EN apply primarily toperformance of Washington, D.C. facilities (which house 60percent of World Bank staff) with country office data noted,when relevant.
