【 摘 要 】

The Supplier Utilization through Responsive Grouped Enterprises (SURGE) Program is a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) research and development program to procure and manage spare parts by employing: (1) part grouping technology, (2) lean manufacturing principles, and (3) information technology (IT). The objective of the SURGE Program is to improve performance of the supply chain by reducing lead times and life-cycle costs of parts to DLA. The Prototype Grouping Agent developed in Phase I is one tool that can be used to accomplish this objective.
