OAK-B135 This work was undertaken to explore the possibilities of exploiting direct energy conversion. This report concentrates on evaluation of means of formulating the fuel required for the Magnetically Insulated Quasi-Spherical Fission Electric Cell, as proposed by Sandia, and on the possible operation of a liquid fueled fission reactor in a burst-pulse mode.
