【 摘 要 】

A three-day workshop was organized in April 2001 in Washington, DC consisting of scientists, policy experts, and entrepreneurs to explore the proposed use of iron fertilization in the High Nutrient Low Chlorophyll regions, notably the Equatorial Pacific and Southern Oceans, to actively sequester atmospheric CO(sub 2). Industry interest on this topic stems from the potential of carbon trading in future climate change treaties.
