The scope of this analysis was to assess the sensitivity of contaminant fluxes from the vadose zone to the water table, to several parameters. Some of these parameters are controllable. Some are not. Results were evaluated with respect to their sensitivity to: (1) Hydraulic properties of geologic units; (2) Volume, duration, and source area of artificial recharge; (3) Simultaneous artificial recharge sources; (4) Effects of former leaks; and (5) Barriers to infiltration of precipitation. Results were most sensitive to the presence and timing of installation of infiltration hamers over contaminant sources in the vadose zone.
