【 摘 要 】

This paper discusses the subject of gamma-ray flares from astrophysical sources that are expected to be detected by the GLAST satellite. Such flares most commonly originate in jets of active galaxies. In particular, the paper provides theoretical predictions regarding the soft X-ray flares that should precede the gamma-ray flares, and provides the implications on the particle content of the jet as a function of the intensity and time history of such flares.
