【 摘 要 】
"To woolgrowers, the yarn spinner is the key player in the worsted processing chain. The spinner's specification of required top properties and the price he is prepared to pay will determine what wool will be the most economical to grow. An on-going trend to lighter and softer fabrics means that the premium for finer wools is likely to strengthen. Finer and longer fibres allow either lighter yarns or, in the same weight, stronger and more even yarns with lowers [sic] costs in both spinning and weaving.Finer fibres allow softer fabrics. The highest quality fibre is that which is best suited for the market and for which the customer will pay a premium.Hence the order of importance of fibre quality attributes is diameter, length, strength, diameter distribution and, sometimes, crimp. Diameter is overwhelmingly the most important fibre property; for most applications longer fibre length is better; and for weaving yarns lower crimp frequency is generally to be preferred. Currently, these observations are not always in agreement with premiums in the market place but will increasingly become the key quality attributes in addition to lack of contamination in all its forms (VM, plastic, pesticides etc.)." -- Summary
