【 摘 要 】
The project: 'Australian primary industries transforming to a changing climate' is aimed at understanding how research and policy development can better support individuals making decisions about change management. This requires that we know something about what motivates people to change their practices in response to big drivers, such as climate, global economic markets or domestic over-supply. We also need to know what knowledge, skills and support individuals use to make small incremental changes to their enterprise, or more fundamental, transformative change (e.g. relocating, exiting the industry). There are many factors that affect the decision making processes of resource managers and this project aims to explore these issues, through case studies of major, adaptive shifts. One of these case studies focuses on the wine industry. For this case study, a number of interviews and surveys are being undertaken with Yalumba and Orlando wineries as the main partners. This report provides feedback on the 50 growers who were surveyed in the first round of data collection and analysis. We also provide a summary of the 19 interviews conducted with the participating wine companies and a little information on the other case studies in the project: the livestock and peanut industries and the Sunraysia and Wimmeria communities.
