【 摘 要 】

This interim report summarizes the efforts to date to develop an ultrasonic technique for detecting and sizing potting voids between a high explosive material and a metallic baclung. This report presents the results for two tasks. The first task was to establish that ultrasonic energy penetrates LX-17. Then once the acoustic properties of LX-17 were measured, a demonstration experiment substantiated that voids could be detected and imaged.
