Technological advances that drive economic growth require both public and private investment. The U.S. Department of Energy???s national laboratories play a crucial role by conducting the type of research, testing and evaluation that is beyond the scope of regulators, academia or industry. Examples of such work from the past year can be found in these pages. Idaho National Laboratory???s engineering and applied science expertise helps deploy new technologies for nuclear energy, national security and new energy resources.
