This Ordinance makes provision for the safety of live bivalve molluscs and other shellfish (i.e. echinoderms, tunicates and marine gastropods) produced in, imported and/or placed on the market of Guernsey. The Ordinance, among other things, provides for the designation by the States of designated shellfish waters, i.e. coastal and brackish waters which, in its opinion, need protection or improvement in order to support shellfish life and growth.
