An Act to regulate the activities involving gene technology, it consists of 194 sections and is divided in 12 Parts. Under section 3, “the object of this Act is to protect the health and safety of people, and to protect the environment, by identifying risks posed by or as a result of gene technology, and by managing the risks by regulating certain dealings with GMOs”.
