This Order establishes the procedure for immediate measures of iodine prophylaxis of the population in the event of radiation accident. Iodine prophylaxis - blockage of human thyroid gland or iodine blockade, consisting in urgent introduction of a medicine of potassium iodide into the human body in order to prevent or reduce the absorption of radioactive isotopes of iodine by thyroid gland in the event of a radiation accident.
