【 摘 要 】
We prove that the Drinfeld space is essentially the only Deligne-Lusztig variety which is at the same time a period domain over a finite field. We also discuss an affineness criterion for Deligne-Lusztig varieties and its relation to cohomology vanishing theorems. (C) 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
