【 摘 要 】

This paper deals with the problem of finding the stress distribution in the neighborhood of a peripheral edge crack in a spherical cavity. The crack is excited by a torsional standing wave. The problem is solved by using integral transforms and is reduced to the solution of a singular integral equation. The solution of this equation is obtained numerically by the method due to Erdogan, Gupta, and Cook, and the stress intensity factors are displayed graphically. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd.
