【 摘 要 】

Non-crimp fabrics have become prominent in the automotive and aeronautic industry due to their economical fabrication and the high degree of drapability. The aim of this study is to demonstrate a procedure for experimental characterization and constitutive modeling of non-crimp fabrics. Accordingly, detailed experimental results of tension, bending, in-plane shear and double dome forming are presented and discussed. A novel hyperelastic model for non-crimp fabrics is proposed, which takes into account the fiber dispersion, bending stiffness and anisotropic in-plane shear behavior of the fabrics. The predictive capabilities of the model are illustrated by comparison with the experimental data. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
