We obtain sharp estimates for the localized distribution function of the dyadic maximal function M-d phi, when phi belongs to L-p,L-infinity. Using this we obtain sharp estimates for the quasi-norm of M-d phi in L-p,L-infinity given the localized L-1-norm and certain weak L-p-conditions. (C) 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
