For an arbitrary spherical function phi(-mu) we expand phi(-mu)(I-r- x) into a spherical series on the open unit ball D for the spectral norm in C-rxr. We also obtain some interesting corollaries. In particular, we compute the spherical transform of phi(-mu)(I-r+x). (C) 1998 Academic Press.
