【 摘 要 】

Methyl fluorochlorobromoacetate was reduced either with lithium aluminium hydride or, better, with diisobutyl aluminium hydride. Work-up in the presence of water gave a mixture of the hydrate and methyl hemiacetal of fluorochlorobromoacetaldehyde. The mixture was dehydrated with phosphorus pentoxide/sulphuric acid to fluorochlorobromoacetaldehyde, which was characterized. Purified fluorochlorobromoacetaldehyde was polymerized to poly(fluorochlorobromoacetaldehyde) with anionic and cationic initiators. The insoluble, presumably isotactic, polymer was characterized by spectroscopic means and by thermal analysis.
